Economische Zaken

Economische Zaken zijn belangrijk. Ook voor u als willekeurige burger. Veel mensen denken dat economie over geld gaat: de prijs van melk, het inkomen van uw buurman, en hoeveel belasting hij wel niet betaalt. Dat is voor een deel ook zo, maar economie gaat ook over iets anders: over de vraag hoe we de samenleving kunnen inrichten, gegeven het feit dat we niet in de hemel leven waar alles in overvloed is en iedereen altijd voor honderd procent gelukkig is.

Met een nationale postercampagne en website leerden we de burgers van Nederland een aantal lesjes over de economie in samenwerking met Bas Haring. In plaats van voor de lessen te betalen, kon er via onze website geld verdiend worden met het lezen van de teksten.

Economic Affairs

Economics are important, as much for you as any random citizen. Many people think that economics is about money: the price of milk, your neighbour’s income and how much tax he did not pay. That is partly true, but economics is also about something else: the question of how to organize a society given the fact that we are not in a heavenly world where everything is in abundance and everyone is one hundred percent lucky.

In collaboration with Bas Haring, we used a national poster campaign to teach Dutch citizens a number of lessons about the economy. Instead of paying for the lessons, people could earn money by reading texts through our website.
